The Mother of Frankenstein’s Monster is an audio essay intended to be experienced at home. It can be listened to while doing the dishes, folding laundry, or picking up toys from the living room floor.

Departing from Mary Shelley’s seminal novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus (1818), the work invites listeners to reflect on the maternal aspects of their own lives and the often-unseen forms of care embedded within everyday domestic spaces. By situating the listening experience within the home, the audio essay creates a connection between Shelley’s story and the listener’s own lived environment.
